Discuss:
How copyright is a barrier to sharing of papers, code, data and what we can do about it. Who owns our scientific work?
I’m also interested in concerns researchers have over code and data sharing, and in particular what type of restrictions would make them more willing to share, if any.
Licensing is a tool that can, along with freeing the work for reuse, encourage attribution. Changing norms of data and code citation is a salient issue and legal attribution may be able to help.
